About me
Compelling descriptions are difficult to write. There is a balance to strike between saying too little and saying too much, the whole kept in check by what is acceptable to present of oneself in the first place.

My name is Ofélia. I'm a queer musician and artist. I am a very opinionated woman. I lived my childhood in rural France, until my parents decided it was time to leave for Canada. In hindsight I thank them for this decision, because I doubt I would have ended up becoming the person I am today without the profound sadness and despair this country has made me feel since the day I arrived. I have been, since this plane landed in 2010, a stranger, an immigrant, and my Whiteness did not shield me from the worst the Québécois people has to offer to aliens. Being an outsider grants a unique insight on the tragicomedy of North American history and culture, and ultimately I cannot hide that a lot of my art is shaped by what growing up in rejection does to someone.

The purpose of my art however is not to be a cynical, mocking critique of White North American culture, to which I pay as little mind as possible while creating. My goal is to create atmospheres and moods within which my audience can lose themselves. I create music to daydream, travel, study, dance, do dishes, get high, fuck, the daily life experiences that need an ambience to help the scene.
